The Craven Heifer, an old-fashioned country inn was established in the 19th Century and acquired by John and Angela Davis in Summer 2003. The inn is synonymous with the words quality and value. John and Angela both hail from a banking background. John more latterly in his role as Director of Regional Property Finance at the Bank of Scotland has funded a number of larger hotels in the North.
Having left the financial world for the leisure industry our aim is to expand the business ensuring that our standards continue to improve. With two children of our own we are fully committed to ensuring a family atmosphere and top quality fresh food at a sensible price.
We use only the finest meats, which are all sourced locally from local butchers and direct from local farmers. Our Trout are all supplied locally and our fresh sea fish is landed daily from Fleetwood. All our fruit and vegetables are supplied daily. With the children in mind, we have designed our little heifer meals so that only home cooked food is served. With the exception of Ice and Ice cream we do not use any frozen food here at the Heifer.
We do not rest on our laurels. All our menus are reviewed four times a year to ensure that we make maximum use of fresh local seasonal ingredients. We believe that we offer the finest food in the area.
We are conveniently located just off the A65/A59 on the Grassington Road B6265. We are the perfect location to start your journey through the wonderful Yorkshire Dales.
